Woodblock printing is the traditional method used for hand made printing on textiles since 7000 BC. And this art is protected by UNESCO as world heritage. The process of printing is done by hand-carved wooden blocks, which are dipped into an Oeko-Tex certificated dye. This method is a prolonged process because it`s all hand made.
Even though all pieces are carefully created and curated, they may have minor variations as a sign of their individuality.
All our bamboo-cotton blend peshtemals and beach dresses are hand-printed by a family of women artisans in a small town of Turkey so that you are supporting art, artisanship, women, and their families.
You and we together help to revive the community and keep the tradition alive.
